Roy Jones Jr. says he wants to fight Joe Calzaghe and do it overseas. "July 8 suits me," Jones told BBC Wales. "I'll fight in Britain at super middleweight or light heavyweight. Calzaghe excites me." This represents the first time Jones has indicated a willingness to fight off U.S. soil since the 1988 Olympics in Seoul when he was robbed of a deserved gold medal.

I cannot see why Calzaghe would be interested in fighting Jones. I mean, I can - no win since 2003, knocked out in 2 of them, nearly knocked out against Tarver, a four weight world champ who is completely past it - but this will do nothing at all for Joe's reputation.

But the really sad thing is, if this fight does happen over here i'm ****ing gonna go! I'm gonna spend something like £200 to watch this ****! never mind i'm a ****ing ****** and its idiots like me that are gonna ensure this fight goes ahead.

I cant miss the opportunity to see Roy Jones fight in the flesh though, can I!?

i read on teletext this morning that frank warren is talking to jones jrs representatives and talks are going well for a july showdown in cardif,warren also added its calzaghes choice to fight jones jr because he wants to be tested against hes biggest hero in boxing

don't be so hard on yourself. this would be an amazing fight. The only thing better than seeing Roy fight is seeing Roy get knocked Out!!!! And you know Calzeghe is gonna Knoeck his ass out!!!! it will be worth every penny. this fight should have happened years ago. Roy knew who joe was at least a decade ago. rumor has it Roy started playing the rising in weight game because of joe, he didn't want it back then.

Are you serious? Roy has already been KO'd thrice, once in the ams, and twice in the pros. He obviously has post-concussion syndrome so why the hell would you want to see his frail brain turned off again? Obviously you are a sick man or you just don't realize how delicate the human brain is.

This fight should not happen. Joe should've stepped up years ago vs a guy like Lacy or Woods and then fought Roy. He waited too long. "Roy Jones Jr." no longer exists.
