Aside from Nonito, Rigo's resume is lacking. Also, his knockouts are expected, the opposition he has faced for the most part are so far beneathe him KOing them should be the norm.

I agree, the guy he fought wasn't great but it was evident how far out of his league he was right from the first round. Again, if Loma didn't injure his hand, the KO was pretty much a guarantee.

Oh and having KO wins on your record doesn't automatically make you exciting. Rigo has those 10 KO's over lesser foes but no one is as excited over him as they are over Loma. Both are technically sound but only one exerts effort into providing the audience with excitement.

Lomachenko has a accomplished way more that Walters in his life. Walters should be honored just to be in the same ring with someone like Lomachenko!! Plain and simple!

This shows the difference between a true champion and Walters. Lomachenko is all about fighting the toughest opposition and laying his claim to supremacy in the division; he's a true throwback fighter. He only has a few fights, but his resume is pretty damn impressive already. Walters is obviously going for the easier opposition and avoiding Lomachenko. He won't be able to duck forever. These two are on a crash course and Loma is going to wreck shop!

look at it from walters perspective, if he beats lomachenko now, it's not worth sht, maybe if loma continues to win and in retrospect we can say, wow, really great win, but what if he doesn't? what if walters ruins him?

then it's just "he was a great amatuer", "oh, and he beat gary russell"

sht fight atm, loma only has russell on his record, and 4 ***in fights

he needs to atleast build his record with more names first
            rematch salido, fight mares

One card with both on it to create interest among non hardcore fans then fight each other on the next card.

Well that looks to be the plan, I read somewhere in Ukrainian media that Loma is fighting Gamalier Rodriguez. So if they put as supporting fight for Walters- Gonzales that would be great. And than they can put Loma-Walters on the Canelo-Cotto undercard

Good plan, but if canelo/cotto is May 2, there likely isn't enough time since Loma hurt his hand. I'd rather see that fight headline a BAD card and then have HBO push the lower weight classes.

the better fight would be loma vs gradovich because it would be a unification fight (WBO and IBF). plus both guys are with top rank so it's easy to make whereas mares is with haymon.

and if walters fights and beats gonzalez he will have the WBA super and WBC.

so when loma and walters finally fight it'll determine the undisputed featherweight champion (WBO, IBF, WBA super, WBC, Ring).

Don't forget he took it to Salido in his 2nd fight(got robbed too imo). Salido is a proven champion and he has scary power, which Lomachenko walked right through. As far as the resumes go, the only big names Walters has beaten are Donaire & Darchinyan. I think these two aren't that far apart resume wise. Walters has more professional fights, but Lomachenko's prestige amateur career & Olympic medals help level that playing field. I think Lomachenko is a bigger draw myself. Regardless, they'll fight soon enough and it'll be obvious why Walters chose other fights instead.
