Well pretty obvious, Golovkin is considered the most avoided fighter of ALL TIME by ESPN and the media. He is called the modern era Mike Tyson. Nobody comes close except for a prime Tyson I guess.

He's got Mayweather dead scared at freaking 147 And made Ward retire at 168... what other fighter has had EVERYBODY in 2-3 divisions ducking them as hard?!??? Kovalev is also avoiding him and at 175. He's got the top fighters in each division ducking him.

ward isnt fighting because of promotional issues. he has been very vocal in wanting to fight GGG, while gennady has been the one who has refused and flat out admitted he wants no part of ward.

floyd is way too small for golovkin, he isnt going to fight anyone that size and frankly he shouldnt. it would be like golovkin fighting a HW. kovalev isnt ducking him either, what a joke. he cant make MW so unless GGG moves up the fight simply cant happen and as far as i know gennady made no noise about wanting to do that for the purpose of boxing kovlev.

GGG is avoided at MW, but he is far from the most avoided MW in history let alone in any division. hagler was more avoided on his way up. julian jackson, mike mccallum, ezzard charles and charley burley were all more avoided too. he isnt the most avoided fighter today either, guillermo rigondeaux clearly holds that distinction.

i would say foreman, liston, robinson, langford, duran, jackson, dempsey or tyson is the greatest boogeyman. if i had to pick just one i would probably go with foreman, people were afraid for his opponents lives.
