Yes not being the lead promoter would suck for Arum. But also not being lead promoter means he doesn't have to take on all expenses to promote the fight.

You do know that even for his in house fights Arum has to spend a lot of money to promote the fights. He would have to spend a lot of money to promote the Vargas/pac fight because Vargas is so unknown. By the time Manny gets his guarantee all other fighters on the undercards are paid, and Arum gets his %.

I don't think that when it's all said and done that % from an in house fight would be more than the % he would get from a Mega fight with Pacquiao.

The 50/50 split or even a 60/40 split in Mayweathers favor would still IMO generate more money for Arum than an in house fight with another Top Ranker.

I read that part. Makes little sense to me. You think he makes more money when he controls all the revenue, meaning Pac fights an in house Top Rank fighter. But those fights are losing steam and not generating as much as a fight with Mayweather would. Arum wouldn't make more on Jessie Vargas vs Pacquiao than Pac/Mayweather.


Again why would a promoter whom we know is a money grubbing pig, not want to make the biggest fight possible? Not want to get a fighter who's been loyal to him, at a time where many have not been i.e. Cotto, Chavez Jr, the biggest fight he could make?

The biggest fight possible? A money grubbing pig will manage risk versus reward. And that is what Arum has been doing through this whole saga. Fighting in China against Rios and Algeri? All reward, no risk. Fighting FMJ is a huge risk for Arum monetarily. A Manny win is a huge reward, but if Arum thought the risk vs. reward was in his favor, then the fight would have been made a long time ago. I will say if Arum does not make it now, it probably will not happen. But I have not a ounce of faith in the money grubbing pig.

35% is actually a good deal because Manny said he would take a 60-40 split... so why wouldn't $40 million + 35% be a good offer? Arum was rejecting it on purpose though because he knew he still had time after the Algieri fight... we'll see who really wants the fight now and who's ducking but it's been Floyd and we know from his demands:

"leave your promoter" "give me fights under Mayweather promotions" and "my health comes first" further, see sig...

So we don't know anything about Pac and team ducking because of them lying about accepting Floyds demands? Or lying why they couldn't do the original drug testing? Or not accepting reasonable offers? Or Arum making every excuse in the book? Why do you sit there and ignore one side and the other gets all the blame? How is it that Arum can decline an offer and you already have a built in excuse for him, when there is no way u could know what's in his mind?

I see what you're saying but even smaller, he still gets far more. The opponent isn't taking $70m + and the other promoter isn't taking the rest. Then again, we really don't know the #'s so we're both guesstimating. But I do know Arum said he would have made very little from De La Hoya-Mayweather for the reasons listed.
