Ref could've/should've counted out Algieri. Do you agree?

Some guys with heart don't know when to stay down. Algieri was beat up pretty badly in this fight. It probably could've been stopped even though he seemed able to continue.

Especially with that beautiful left hand that put him down...his head snapped back real bad..

It was very close. If you go by definition ..yea I think he should have been counted out. The ref gave him the benefit of the doubt. But the guy got knockdowned a few times previous. So given the context, I think he should have been counted out.

But yea, he was obviously able to continue afterwards.

Yeah, even though we love to see a good knock out, we don't want to see anyone get permanently hurt. I was kind of thinking about that as the fight wore on and Algieri took more and more punishment.

Algieri will never be the same again! Pac beat him up bad. Prob could of been stopped but I guess he was let show heart and finish. If it was stopped late it would effect him more.....even though he's still ruined!

It was weird. Algieri was still down on one knee when the ref should have said 10, but he didn't.

                      Yes.

We've seen it happen countless times. The fighter and the referee sort of make a silent agreement that its finished.

Most of the times, when these guys get up right at the count of 10 like Algieri did, it means he doesn't want the other guy to get the KO, just the TKO.

And when he turned around and didn't choose to look at the referee right away, it's the "right" timing for the referee to stop it and let the fighter not look like he quit.
