A boxer with no power thinks he is going to beat a Boxer/puncher with significant power. He thinks he will outsmart him, he thinks that he will make Cotto think. I think that this fight is a very interesting match up and I actually feel that Paulie could be a smarter fighter than Cotto. But with that said, Cotto is not just a fighter, he is actually best as a boxer puncher. I think that Cotto will lose a couple of rounds before Paulie gets KTFO.

I also have previoulsy predicted that Malingalli's corner may have to stop the fight if Paulie decides to wear all that gel. By the 3rd round, the chemicals from the gel will irritate his eyes and force a technical decision.

Also I respect him for stepping up this quickly, because Cotto is no light target. Clearly he has taken the path of hardest resistance, and that deserves props alone, for the stage that he is at in his career.
thanks, and you're right about people think that power is what wins in boxing, when it is a combination of things not just one skill or advantage, it's a multitude of things.

the one major thing that i see in this fight is the body attack of Cotto. not one fight that i've seen of Malignaggi's (i've seen about 4 or 5)has his opponents done any body work at all on him. obviously there has been a bodyshot thrown in here and there, but none of his opponents have worked his body, not even for one whole round. all of his opponents have never had that in their fight game. none of his opponents even have had the experience to even think about attacking his body, they all go for the head. i think it's safe to say that Malignaggi is partially inexperienced in the realm of being truely attacked to his body, and especially by some one who hits as hard as Cotto.

Malignaggi makes it hard for anyone to get a clean shot on him, but he has also been fighting club fighters. Cotto has fought way better opposition. he has a few (now) ex-world champs on his record. there is a huge difference in class of fighters Cotto has fought verses the fighters Malignaggi has fought. and that plays a role in giving a fighter the upper hand inside the ring.

most definately. cotto has definately fought the better opposition. i really havent seen pauli fight. ive seen clips here and there. ive seen cotto fight twice..

pauli lost his patience in the video.. he was venting.. what he really needs to do is focus on what hes gunna do instead of trashtalking. some of the things he said did make sense tho.. branco really didnt hit cotto.. he was too timid and tight.

You gotta admit, Paulie can talk his ass off. Whether or not he can back it up, thats another story.

I agree with Pauli when he said, "I'm gonna whoop that ass" is his impression of black english vernacular.

If I wanted to hear Pauly sounding off, I'd listen to the lamest opera ever; except with a skinny girl who looks like a guido.

I know what the **** it means, and I'm asking how is a simple sentence like that considered "the black man's language which no other race can use?"
