The hipster stood his ground eventually... But I don't think that Pac actually wanted to finish him up -- Pac jst can't find another sparring partner as good as Algieri for a full 12 rounder...
No doubt here...2 of the 6 KDs were slips...ref should have known better
Whoa, whoa whoa... One of the KD's was a slip, the one in the second round, all the rest were legit knockdowns and if Chris paid more attention to boxing and using his head rather than keeping tabs of how many times he got knocked down then maybe he might've not looked "worse" than one of Pacquiao's second rate sparring partners...
Chris deserves no slack for his sheit performance from you or anybody else...

... Pac wasn't able or he just didn't want to finish the hipster up?

1 was a clear slip. The other was debatable since he ate a clean combination, even if a small slip contributed to him going to his knee (his knees were pretty close to the canvas already).
The ref was atrocious, especially in the 9th. Algieri barely made the count (arguably standing up unsteady enough to wave it off at 10). Then he turns his back. That there and then 99% of refs wave it off. Then the referee follows him to the corner, turns him around, and spends 10s chatting to him. Ridiculous.
Then Algieri is getting nailed and goes to grab and goes low, Pacquiao backs away to make space and the ref issues a standing 8 count - not even in the regulations. Then he jumps in whilst Algieri is floundering and Pacquiao wheels away thinking the fight is over - but no, he's just separating them. WTF?!?! What kind of ref separates fighters by leaping inbetween them?
