Jhonny Gonzalez is the better move, but Walters would still gain respect from a Lomachenko win, at least I would give him props for that, especially if it's another KO.

I would give Walters more credit for beating Lomachenko than for beating Gonzalez. Jhonny is a vulnerable champion in my opinion and therefore a low-risk/high reward fight (at least to casual boxing fans) for Walters.

I understand what he is saying 100% and I PREFER Walters vs Gonzalez right now over Walters vs Loma because Walters vs Gonzalez is #1 vs #2 at Featherweight

Has nothing to do with FEAR, I think it is more about the Money and also continuing to make a name for himself. Gonzalez is the BIGGER FIGHT right now. Loma vs Walters is not a big fight right now, they would probably have to put that on a Undercard that is not a stand alone Mainevent right now

Lomas a great fighter but out of the two Jhonny's the more proven and more of a legit champ. He beat a guy who was on the brink of the top 10 p4p for his belt in dominant fashion, while Loma won a vacant belt against an unproven fighter.

Indeed, completely agree. Jhonny beat Mares whom at the time was ranked top 5 PFP by the Ring Magazine, a notable feat. GR Jr on the other hand had just came off of a career defining victory over TBA. To be completely honest though I had Russel winning when the fight was announced, I was fooled by dose gifted hands doe. Seeing how Lomachenko completely outclassed him put me to shame for a few weeks

The Mares loss still hurts me, I died on the inside that night. Apparently, I wasn't the only one***8230; Damn Jhonny and his amazing feints***8230; > Loma schooling a fragile fisted TBA slayer.

If it was about money, he would have said so. But he says there is nothing to gain. That is bull****. I like Walters, and cheered him on vs Nonito. But when fighters start to take this route, its ducking.

                  Translation: High risk, low reward.
He should join the Haymon team.

Worse of all the Mares we all loved died that night, he'll never be the same fighter again.

nooooooo digas eso, noooo :'( es verdad pero… Mares… pintaba para mas.

I'm still a huge fan of his regardless but you are %100 correct, the Mares pre Jhonny is long gone. Atleast he left V. Hunter's whispering ass, what the hell was he doing with him in the first place?
