South African giant Ruann Visser (2-0, 2 KOs) scored an easy first round TKO over William Durham (0-2) at the at Bayou City Events Center Friday night. The 6-foot-ten Johannesburg native dropped Williams with a left-right-right uppercut combination early in the round and proceeded to walk the smaller man down with stiff jabs.
Visser, 24, soon found his mark with a straight right that caused Williams to turn his back and retreat. Referee Gary Simon read that as a sign of capitulation and waved the fight over but not before got in a straight right to the back of the head as Williams was fleeing. Time of the stoppage was 2:58.
