Comments Thread For: DeGale: Froch's Motivation Talk is Bollocks, Chatting ****

JAMES DEGALE claims Carl Froch is a coward who is afraid his legacy will be ruined if the pair meet.

The Londoner is the mandatory challenger for Froch's IBF super-middleweight title but the champion is refusing to face him.

And 2008 Olympic gold medallist DeGale believes that is because the three-time world champion is scared his reputation will be tarnished by losing to a fighter he deems below him.

DeGale has never called Froch a "coward". The first line of the article is a fabrication.

There's a difference between being scared of another fighter and being scared of ruining your legacy.

DeGale has been saying the latter about Froch.

All bollocks talk. Degale is ranked at no.1 contender and Froch should fight him or give it up.Froch has proven his worth ,Degale hasn't at the elite level. As for this legacy talk if Carl is so concerned with this it should be only Ward on Carl's mind.As I've said if not the history books could be unkind to to him , I would love for him to have his vegas pop at Ward.
I hope Degale wins well as that of course ****e it up even more.

Wasn't Groves Froch's mandatory? After back to back fights with a lesser domestic rival don't you think Carl deserves to call the shots for his next (and probably final) fight? He deserves somebody with more kudos & appeal than DeGale after 2 victories against DeGale's conqueror. As #1 DeGale deserves a shot at the title, but he's done little to earn a fan base to sell tickets. He needs to stop crying and start grafting instead of trying to hitch a ride on Froch's hard earned success.

The Ward fight is pointless. Ward wins by a mile in a fight that sells phuuck all tickets. A fight with Chavez Jr would be a total war with massive sales... what the phuuck does DeGale bring other than moaning like a biitch?

i'd be surprised if Froch actually retired even if he doesn't get the Chavez Jr fight.

I sometimes feel like Froch is overrating the size of the Chavez Jr fight and what it would do for his career. Jr isn't exactly an ATG like his father and is inconsistent, he hasn't done a great deal recently. He's been on the big stage numerous times before without fighting in Vegas.

Yeah, I don't rate his ability as a boxer, but he can take a lot of punishment and has an huge Mexican following. In Vegas that means serious $$$. IMO Froch is targeting Chavez not just because it's huge, but also because he likely to win.

Carl knows Ward will beat him in a rematch so his comments are always about how Ward is boring, but Froch is full of pride and if he believed he could beat Ward he'd want to set the record straight.

Whatever, at this point I can't knock the guy for going after the biggest payday.

Do we really want to see a fighter take load of punishment because he can ? and lets face it for someone who is as limited as Jr. it's possible that it's not just his career that gets ruined....sorry Wicky not for me !
