Now mentioning Walters is a bit ridiculous. While he is a huge featherweight, he's not even close to 140 yet. I know Roach said Pac could even make 135 for "the right fight," but Walters is still way too far away from proving himself at that weight.
As per the Crawford fight tomorrow over the Algieri fight - well, I agree that the Terence fight is much more likely to be a more competitive fight, producing much better two-way action, I think that he still has to beat somebody worthy at 140 first.
Well, actually, he has beaten Breidis Prescott at 140 pounds about two years ago. But, one, I'm not sure how "worthy" Prescott would be considered at 140, and, two, whether or not that win is legitimate moving forward making his stake at 140 pounds.
Either way, pretty much everybody knows Terence is a MUCH better boxer than Algieri is, and would be a better challenge.
Still, off-topic, but I don't have any problem with the Algieri fight. Dude isn't pound for poujnd future material like Crawford, but damn if he's not a very solid boxer, and a definite top-10 challenger at the weight. I mean, thus far, only WORLD CLASS guys have been able to beat Provodnikov (Bradley, and El Maestro), and they BOTH had to go life and death in a very, very close, tooth and nails type fight. And look what Algieri did to Emmanuel Taylor as opposed to how Broner barely beat him? Algieri has the goods, and the style to gve Pac a good little fight.
