Cotto is not a middleweight.

He most likely will not even defend that title just like Wittaker and Floyd didn't defend their 154 titles.

Cotto did the same thing RJJ did at heavy with Ruiz.

Doesn't matter who has the belt, as I said. Point is GGG is mandatory, so again, whoever beats Cotto next will have to fight GGG or drop the belt, either way that's fine as GGG will get his shot either at the person with the belt or a shot at the vacant belt.

Canelo however beating Cotto is the best scenario since he's big enough and certainly has the balls to fight GGG.
