Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I Want To Emulate Wladimir Klitschko

Klitschko is a great boxer. Even if the fighters he's fought might not be considered the best group ever, how often does he actually get into any sort of danger when fighting them? Pretty much none and that's a direct result of his speed, skill and experience.
Joshua will be the next big thing at HW because not only has he got the size, he also has the speed and smarts. I think he'll be more aggressive than Wlad as well as he seems to have more of a desire to finish people, rather than klitschko who is more of a safety-first boxer (a la floyd??) imo.
either way, hope they transition between the two of them because most the rest of the heavyweights are a bunch of ****heads.

It's OK if you guys have chosen to boycott the heavyweight division because you don't like it. Nobody is forcing you to like it. But then after admitting you don't follow the division you come in and voice these passionate opinions about it and sound completely clueless.
Shannon Briggs and Deontay Wilder may suit your personal fetishes, but they are NOT better than Pulev. One is an old geezer and one is just a terrible crude fighter. Wlad begged to fight Stiverne but it appears Wilder is getting the shot instead.
Jennings is pretty good but since there's a very immediate possibility of him facing Wlad and losing, people are making sure to berate him as much as possible. And he is a bit outsized.
Joshua is rather promising but Wlad is practically his mentor. It's obvious that he's working his way up very slowly and not looking for a title shot right now.
Fury has taken this passive aggressive approach for years where he talks **** about Wlad then when asked about fighting him simply changes the subject. It's pretty obvious he wants to milk a few more domestic level fights with Chisora type guys before getting KTFO and retired by Wlad.
Wlad has fought better opponents than the above listed before but he fought them while they were young and undefeated and when they lost, everyone simply dismissed them as never-weres.
Haye is still "semi-retired". The true #2 in the division Povetkin was shut down in an hideous match.
Hopefully he lets this bunch beat each other up until a true elite emerges and puts them down. The harder he makes it for "slick americans" to berate his competition the better, and that requires forcing them to fight and beat each other.
People hate Wlad so much there was a thread comparing him to Joe sack of **** Frazier, one of the worst title contenders in boxing history, in any division, who was beaten in an athletics competition in his prime by a race car driver.Last edited by ////; 11-20-2014, 07:58 PM.

Somebody should tell Poolev that, and then tell him to stop fighting like an amateur with his arms out and chin in the air.
Appalling.
Pulev is being vastly overrated on here haha

Wladimir has never ducked any of them, always fought the best of the best.
There is no HW boxer ever who has faced MORE decent opponents (more numerous of them) than Wladimir.
He isn't ducking them now either. He's picking them off, in their order of best to worst. Povetkin was top. Then Pulev was top, Next in line is the American boxers now (unless Fury).
The real question is, is will these fighters (Wilder, Stiverne etc) or their promo's, duck WLADIMIR!

The two up-and-coming heavyweights who do look like future champions are are Anthony Joshua and an American who is often overlooked named Charles Martin.

Up to Williams, he was looking very promising. Hopefully he's gone away, dissected the fight, and worked on his the exposed/rough elements of his 'game'.
