I think 55/45 split in favor of cOtto is fair...based on their previous purses...I think their about even in terms of popularity and both did similar #'s on their last ppv so I think 50/50 ppv split is fair....not that I realy give a shiet hown much they get payed or where they fight...as long as the fight happen..that's all that mattersComment

Comment

It's called negotiating. Do you really think Cotto thinks he's going to get 75-25 against Canelo? It's a way of signalling to GBP that he considers himself the A-side and GBP will not be allowed to dictate terms. I wouldn't be surprised if the split was between 60-40 and 55-45 in favor of Cotto when all is said and done. I also expect that the fight will be signed and announced as early as next week if Pac looses on Saturday. If Pac wins and the Mayweather-Pac negotiation rumors persist, I expect the announcement would be delayed. This would be a good indicator though because if HBO truly believed the Mayweather-Pac fight was happening they wouldn't pick up Cotto-Canelo.Comment
