Comments Thread For: Gonzalez Says Nicholas Walters is at Top of His List

World Boxing Council featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez says he'd relish a fight with WBA Champion Nicolas Walters in the New Year.

The WBC reported that Gonzalez who successfully defended his crown with an eleventh round TKO of Jorge "El Travieso" Arce in Los Mochis had wanted to fight WBA featherweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire.

However, undefeated Nicolas “Axeman” Walters from Montego Bay, Jamaica scored a crushing 6th round TKO over Donaire at the StubHub Center in Carson City to ruin chances of a Gonzalez-Donaire showdown.

That is a great fight. I believe Walters is legit, and would probably favor him against most in his weight.

This is the fight I would like to see the most. Loma needs more seasoning, La Bomba would probably be an underdog but we know he can really crack. And Walters was wobbled by a Donaire punch in the 2nd round so we never know.

Walters dominates Gonzalez with ease. Walters power, Gonzalez glass jaw this fight won't go past 5.

Great fight. Have to go with Walters. He looks like the man at 126 right now.

Never under estimate Jhonny w/that hook...95% of the "experts" were taking Mares 2 beat him, not me, & I am no expert...Mares is still running from him...
