Andrade must have known roughly when his child is gonna be born when this fight was agreed, so that's a poor excuse.

I think it's a financial problem. I don't know who this guy thinks he is, he's avoided fights with Korobov, Kirkland and now Charlo, what makes him think he can pick and choose his opponents? Somebody tell him he's not a superstar.

I was going to come in here and say i'm disappointed at this fight falling through but that I won't judge because being there for the birth of your child is more important than a boxing match.





Which is absolutely terrible, and would have been understandable if he was there for the birth. That's something you can never, ever, ever, get back. A big check against a big name is something Kovalev was going to get sooner or later. You can't ever get back the birth of a child.

But wouldn't a simple glance at the calender been enough to claim this excuse months ago they would have presumably been told the due date by their doctor?

The fact is that the fight was already known to be flimsy for other reasons..and now Andrade is using the birth of his child as the excuse when financial disputes or whatever would have been just as good an explanation.

It's a total bogus excuse, my brother's having a kid in march, he's well aware of the approximate date from now. This is all about avoiding challenging fights because haymon gets these guys paid good amounts for fighting c class guys. I actually understand it, why risk losing the one thing that makes you relevant? But on the flip side, giving a good effort and losing can propel your career. Look at maidana. These guys like Andrade are so insecure in their ability and star power, that they think losing a fight or belt will ruin their career. It's easy to see why most sport fans give zero ****s about boxing.

Not surprised at all given his comments from that interview a few weeks ago. Talked all that crap in previous interviews about being ready for anybody and how he'd like to fight the Charlos and pulls out of the fight like a punk. All bark no bite, seems to be fashion these days
