Wlad. Big. Vitali wasn't as big a puncher as his KO stats said and the angles he threw from would have been messed up by Wlad's jab. The way he leaned back against shorter guys would have made him a sucker for the hook too. Both at their very best, Wlad is better and he would have been in a universe where they weren't related and could fight.Comment

Wlad has simply proved more than Vitali. Vitali's claim to fame is a loss and though I'd have Vitali beating the early versions of wlad (wlad was very dodgy back then) I think the wlad of the past few years would handle any version of Vits.Comment

I think the Lewis fight is telling. Vitali was in shape and in his physical prime (if not on a whole camp just for LL). Lewis was slower that night than the norm and, once he got past the second, basically fought and landed on even terms. Wlad's chin isn't much more or less vulnerable than Lewis's was. Given the straight shots Wlad throws, and the speed he operates at, I don't think Vitali could have avoided the return fire.
Fascinating. Really too bad they were brothers. I was never one who wanted to see it. That's ghoulish even for boxing.Last edited by crold1; 11-16-2014, 05:05 PM.Comment

Agree. Once he was okay stinking it out if he needed too, with Steward rounding out his game, he evolved into a complete fighter.Comment
