Last night, in a fight I sadly missed but I'm happy I didn't have to see, Mathew Macklin, a man who should really have gotten the WBA crown, was stopped by someone who couldn't even lace his gloves in his prime. Mack is a guy I met on more than a few occasions, always had a friendly word and tonnes of boxing wisdom, a real student of the game. Good luck to him in the future, hope he retires now, he is all but shot.
