Just finished watching the Westcoast broadcast of this card. Solid performances by Oscar Valdez and Gilberto Ramirez. They dominated durable foes in Alberto Garza who has recently gone the distance with Billy Dib and Jose Pedraza, and Fulgencio Zuniga who has recently gone the distance with Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, James DeGale, and Thomas Oosthuizen.

This was ther 3rd fight for Garza in less than 9 months, he got beat very bad by Pedraza and then by Dib. Yesterday HBO was saying that Garza took this fight a month ago and he trained only 3 weeks, that's why the fight was to 8 rounds. Oscar Valdez looked very hittable, he is always wide open. If you put him against Farenas he will get Ko by Farenas. A this time I don't think he can beat the other prospects like Pedraza, Lomachenko or Verdejo. In the other hand Zuniga fought Degale when Degale was 14 fight's in his record 2 yeas ago, that was not recently, the same with Oosthuizen, 2 years ago. Right now Dirrell will kill this kid. If they want to give him a good fight they have to match him up with Edwin Rodrigues or George Groves and see if he can do somthing.
Obviously he's still not ready for the top dogs but keeps improving and displaying good talent throughout his fights. With only 13 fights(?) you figure he's going to get around 10 more fights against these type of opponents before stepping up.Comment

2. I agree that Oscar a Valdez was a little bit hittable, but he also showed better power than Jose Pedraza and Billy Dib by hurting Alberto Garza on multiple occasions.
3. James DeGale was 26 years old when he fought Zuniga, and Thomas Oosthuizen was 24, whereas Gilberto Ramirez is only 23.
4. Referring to the bold, by your logic you should heap praise on Oscar Valdez for stopping Garza in his 13th fight at 23 years old, whereas Jose Pedraza decisioned Garza in his 16th fight at 24 years old.
Why are you so mad that I think Valdez and Ramirez gave solid performances? Hmm, I think I know why,.
