Holy hell, Wlad's left hook!

You analysis reeks of hate and negatively, rather than objectivity.
I give you no points sir. You are dismissed.Comment

You can't reduce me to a nuthugger. Remember, I'm primarily a Hopkins nuthugger, not Wlad.
I'm a converted Wlad fan as he earned my admiration. I actually rooted against him before I started rooting for him.
Now how bout that "he doesn't have a hook".Comment

Really? I would place you firmly in the nuthugger category.
But that's alright.
Haha, I take that back!! I just hadn't seen it for a while, which you could also read further in the thread.Comment

wlad is just awful. after every punch he throws he clinches so he can't be hit. everytime his opponent is about to throw a punch he grabs them so they can't. tony weeks was the ref so we know he's not going to do anything about it even though in the first round he clinched on purpose at least 10 times. no warnings. no points taken off. the scam continues. henry akwindade please make a comeback and clean out the division.Comment

Ok, to the extent that we're all talking about pros here, then, you're right, many do have that in their toolbox. Fair point. I could have been more precise in what I was trying to get across and that is that there is a short list of fighters on the top level who's ability to lead stands out. I think Wlad is one of them, it's just that his fights are so disjointed sometimes that these things see the light of day in fights that look like trainwrecks.Comment

Wlad's left lead is made even more deceptive because you don't know if he's moving to throw or going all in for a clinch.Comment

Great performance by Wlad. Both times Pulev landed significant punches that made Wlad uncomfortable (in the 1st and 5th), Wlad came back with that devastating short left hook that crumbled Pulev. Quite a great performance if I'm being honest.
A lot is on deck. Stiverne-Wilder winner, Fury-Chisora II winner, Jennings, Parker.Comment

That has to be considered at all times.
Pulev looked like they pulled him from the seats 15 minutes before the fight.Last edited by Chris Bauermeis; 11-15-2014, 07:27 PM.Comment
