Comments Thread For: Salido Hopes For Mikey Garcia Rematch in The Future

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBO super featherweight champion Orlando Salido. The Sonora, Mexico native picked up the title when he stopped Terdsak Kokietgym in 11 thrilling rounds in a fight that had 7 knockdowns in total.

"It was a difficult fight. We knew it would be tough. He was a guy that was ranked #3 by the WBO. It was a grueling fight but we are very happy with the outcome," said Salido.

I think when it comes to current top 10 aggressive warriors. This guy ranks in the top 3. Salido is a badass.

A rematch is more than warranted. What Garcia pulled the night he fought Salido was pure cowardice during a stretch in which Salido, who is known as a slow starter who gets stronger as the fight develops, was coming on strong.

It was pretty one sided. I know salido is resilient but I just don't see what he could have done to win. Anything can happen in boxing, I just don't think the outcome would be any different if it wasn't stopped.

Salido has big fat hairy balls for asking a rematch, but I think he loses again.

In terms of points, yeah he was down big. But there was still four rounds to go and Salido has proven to come back from behind to win in the past. By no means am I stating that Salido would have surely won if the fight was not stopped prematurely, but the fight was indeed halted when the bout reached an interesting point which saw Salido impose himself land flush shots on Garcia. Team Garcia stopped it for a reason.

I need to quit. I defend Salido as too small for Verdejo and Salido says he wants to fatten up. He wants to move up when he can't make 130 anymore? Salido is full grown, the only thing stopping him from making 130 is tortillas and beans.
