  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko-Pulev Will Only Have IBF Belt at Stake

Event organizers have informed BoxingScene.com that Saturday's fight between heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (62-3, 52KOs) and challenger Kubrat Pulev (20-0, 11KOs) will only have the IBF championship at stake. Pulev is the IBF's mandatory challenger.

Besides the IBF crown, Klitschko also hold the IBO/WBO/WBA world titles. If Pulev pulls off the upset at the O2 Arena in Hamburg, he will only walk away with the IBF crown.

Doesnt matter one bit. Wlad is THE champ. All Pulev has to do to be THE man is to beat THE man. Forget about the belts.

Yes. If Pulev wins he'll be considered the top heavyweight and the real champion. The title belts are just window dressing.

If Wlad lost at this point in his career then it would either be 1. Rematch or 2. Retirement.

So yeah what's the point of giving your money to the other ABCs. You beat Wlad it's like knocking all the rings out of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Watch his fans claim that Pulev drugged his water and Wlad is still the real champ.

K2 got them rematch clauses but an interesting question is - would Wladdy TAKE a rematch if he was to lose?

Pulev's the mandatory so there shouldn't be a rematch clause. You never know with K2 though

The Korrupto's must go. Sick of these big stiffs buying their way through my sport with their political corruption and holding up the division with their cowardly corrupt ways.
