Comments Thread For: Taishan Dong Aims To Achieve His Dreams in America

By Thomas Gerbasi - It’s the little things in life sometimes. Or in the case of 7-foot heavyweight Taishan Dong, it’s the big things. Like his clothes, one of the perks of now living in the United States.

“I haven’t thought too much about the environment in the United States, but I really love it though, because they have a different variety of good clothes that I can buy,” he said through an interpreter. “I love living here.”

If Dong hasn’t had much time to think about the adjustments of moving from China to southern California, that’s because he’s been getting a crash course in the sweet science, with the next chapter taking place tonight at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, where he will face Tommy Washington Jr. in a four-round bout to be televised on Fox Sports 1. 26 is a young heavyweight, but an old learner. What he should know now, and learned by this age, he has to accept with less pay and more risk. He'll be 30+ yerars old before he has 25 fights and that only if he keeps winning. He's an unusual person, but the numbers don't add up

Hold up isn't Thomas Giberasi the same guy who said 4 years ago that Boxing is dead and UFC is going to take over? why is he still writing about boxing?

When I first saw his name before I thought this was some Black boxer, I knew 2 black guys growing up with the name Tayshawn and Tayshon. This chinese giant name sounds like a black adult film star name Taishan DONG

They just need to feed him a steady diet of tomato cans and make him popular in china to make money off him because this guy has really no skills or ability even that heavybag video wow you would think he would be tossing that thing around like nothing but he barely budges it.
