    Chagaev W12 Virchis

In the highly anticapated WBA/WBO International showdown between unbeaten heavyweights, Ruslan Chagaev (20-0-1, 16 KOs) of the Universum stable edged previously Spotlight fighter Vladimir Virchis (20-1, 17 KOs) by majority decision on Saturday at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Scores were 115:114, 116:112 for Chagaev and 114:114. The fight was very close and tactical. There were no knockdowns. (Photo: Andre Boge)

I watched it and it was one of the worst fights I've seen in recent times. Virchis played the bad equivalent to Valuev (yes, there actually are HWs even worse technically) and Chagaev was half a poor mans Samil Sam. Both are sparring partners and seeminly like each other. Maybe that affected the fight. However an outing like that shouldn't really be excuseable. Both of them seriously need to rethink their career plans if they keep performing like that.
