Comments Thread For: Tomasz Adamek: It is Probably Time To Walk Away

Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (49-4, 29 KOs), 37-years-old, is potentially going to retire, after losing a clear ten round unanimous decision last Saturday night to Polish heavyweight rival Artur Szpilka. It was the second consecutive defeat for Adamek, who was beaten over twelve rounds earlier this year by Czar Glazkov.

Adamek admits that his skills have declined and he is no longer the fighter he once was. Adamek dominated most opponents at 175 and 200-pounds, but had a tougher time once moving up to the heavyweight ranks against much bigger and stronger opponents.

Retire with your pride intact, Goral. It was a pleasure following your career, which was marvelous at times.

Yes, Tomasz, retire now and enjoy the fruit of your labors. You've got nothing else to prove.

Never had a chance in the age of the superheavyweight...should have stayed down at light heavy or cruiser or rather went back down after the VK fight...although I get the big money is at HW, just think he could have prolonged his career as a top fighter in the divisions where he made a name for himself.
