BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri who spent the majority of his training camp at the Palazzo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was wondering how a guy with his masters was living with his parents myself. I mean, I don't have a masters and thought it was too late when I moved out at 20.

When I was in grad school a significant portion of my classmates (including recent grads) still lived with their families. It's not exactly a time where the cash is flowing in, and you spend all day on campus anyway.

Add a pro fight career and traveling all the time, and there's even less reason to have your own place.

School drains your money... plus his job was a kickboxer/boxer?

          So he's making no money

cut it out.. im sure chris is not super rich but lets not act like he came from a broken home, etc. if im able to live on my own with just a high school diploma then im sure chris could too. he just chooses not too and there is nothing wrong with that, but lets not act like chris is broke, etc.

              Chris is broke

the Provo fight probably payed a mere portion on what his actual financial debt has accumulated. He drives a 200k mile Honda.... he can't afford monthly payments or it would severely burden him.

I'd rather do that than live in debt from school.

I don't know if he had scholarships or grants. I don't know if he had a job other than being a kickboxer or a boxer

Undergrad and grad school drains money.

I guess he's lucky to have understanding parents, but what's his brothers excuse for living there with his whole family too? I don't fully get it.
