Why doesn't Mayweather fight in December/January?

Plus he sees to have no problem fighting twice in 5 months, May-September, yet he won't fight for another 7 months.

No top PPV fighter who fights top opposition fights 3 times a year. Unless the division is really weak. Pacquiao doesn't do it, Marquez, Cotto, Canelo, don't do it.

You saw guys like Donaire pulling it off, 4 times in a year, but that's fighting Arce, Nishioka, guys who Arum/Donaire/fans knew were no match. Golovkin pulls it off also, in a weight class full of stiffs.

The lower your opposition, the more you're gonna fight. Hence why it's common for a rookie to fight 7-8 times in his first year, 5 his second year, third year, lowers to 3 when opposition is getting better, then finally 2 when they're fighting top 10 fighters.

Those are American holidays. (No Canadian Thanksgiving doesn't count)
