Hopkins is a showmen he knows how to sell a fight, which not only makes him richer but his opponent also makes money

However the fight is over, the show is over, back to reality, no more selling a fight, he's being his true self now

We need boxers like Bhop, boxers such as Ward, Triple G, etc..are great boxers, but horrible showmen, they can't sell a fight

Being humble and quite is all good, but without a some form of controversy, this sport would die

You have to be loud and ****y, bravado, 9 times out of 10 it works...

GGG and Kovalev are selling fights with what they do in the ring just fine.

I think he was buying into his own hype. While he was winning, he wasn't exactly fighting real good fighters. Kovalev isn't a Murat or Cloud, he's the real deal. I think this just showed Hopkins that at his age he can't compete with the best out there.

I think your right but I also think he could give Stevenson a good fight.

I like watching him during those times too. You could see he really cares for his fighters. If you remember the Randall Bailey / Mike Jones bout, you see him losing his mind watching his fighter, Randall, waiting too long to throw a punch, or not doing anything at all, but try to land a one punch KO.

Perhaps, but I still feel like that has to be taking into context. Hopkins beat Pascal, but other than that, there's really not a good name on his record since Pavlik. It's not like he's been beating A or even B+ fighters in his late 40s, which you would think he had the way some people are calling him a top 10 ATG which is ridiculous in my mind.

Like Roy Jones said, Pavlik wasn't legit. And he moved up in weight like most of BHop's best wins. BHop is a con-artist. He's being humble now because he knows some fans are noticing that he's been cheating history w/ the help of his age. Calzaghe CLEARLY beat him. People need to accept it. Take away the knockdown, even more clear. If he had fought him at Calzaghe's prime weight of 168, I believe it would've been UNANIMOUS. BHop is NOT ALL-TIME GREAT. More like ONE of the Best in his ERA. You can't be ALL-TIME Great struggling against a Jermain Taylor TWICE.

Anyone saying top 10 ATG I think don't have a good grasp on the history of the sport. I think many people were saying IF he beat Kovalev then therewwould have been a good case, but even then it's stretching it as a don't think too many modern fighters could realistically crack that list. I think he's certainly top 40 though.

Tommy Hearns wasn't even Top 40 according to a ranking put together by... I forgot by which organization, but it was on TV. P4P, Hopkins is no where near that high.

Lol! BHop belongs in the Top 10 on the "Aliens" list along with Chad Dawson and Jermain Taylor. Throw in Clinton Mitchell. He avenged none of his losses except the corpses of Roy Jones Jr.
