Hopkins and Kovalev did their part to make boxing interesting and exciting, so watching the fight was time well spent. Also, I have to believe that Sergey gained valuable experience and earned the respect of many boxing fans who now may well be genuine Sergey Kovalev fans.

Tough not to be...He is probably more complete than I initially gave him credit for (and I have watched a lot of his fights). I still see the flaws Kovalev has, but there isn't the type of fighter that's gonna be able to exploit the ( Stevenson has a chance, but he's still swimming in a puddle of his own p1ss!) flaws without being in danger themselves. Great win for Kovalev-nobody has beat Hopkins this convincing. That shows something special.

I buy it. He sold me as a fighter.

Despite X being 49, I thought going into the fight that he would expose Kovalev. Kovalev killed 2 birds: a.) Showed it's about time for Hopkins to leave the elite level....and b.) Showed that his power can rock even the sturdiest of chins while going 12 rounds in a fight.

Look forward to seeing his meteoric rise continue.
