        Amir Khan?

Amir Khan is a good boxer, with quick hands, but most of us know it takes more than that to be an elite boxer. He is still flawed in some areas, like most are.

I would like to see him against a big puncher again to see if we are only getting the illusion he is vastly improved or not. His last 4 opponents have been carefully selected to be competitive, but safe fights for him. When he was knocked in his rear-end and wobbled several times against Diaz, he was with Hunter then too.

I do think he has improved, but beating two welterweight gate-keepers doesn't put you on Floyd or Manny's level. Beat Brook, Porter, Thurman, or even Guerrero, then he can talk.

His ultimate goal was to fight and compete well with Floyd, win or at least stay close, then retire at 28. He wants to leapfrog anyone else that will expose him, again.

He won't fight Brook because of disrespect now? He has said some very disrespectful things about Floyd lately. His mouth is his worst enemy.

Allow me to counter some of the discrediting claims you make against Amir King Khan.

The first is about the supposed 'disrespect' shown by both kell brook and Floyd Mayweather jr. The answer to this is mayweather has earned his spot to say what he wants to who he wants. He's on the top rung of the ladder and khan is trying to move up. So khan will take the disrespect like a good boy.
The difference is kell brook is a rung down. He's bellow khan begging him for a big payday, but being disrespectful at the same time. Why does khan have to tolerate that? Hes the A-side, and a rung up the ladder. He doesn't need to swallow brooks horse**** like he does mayweathers. He needs to with mayweather if he wants to go places.

The off-night against Diaz can be put down to still killing himself to make a catch weight, and adjusting to a fairly new trainer in Vergil Hunter. The real benefits came In how khan responded in this fight and the next two.

Next your comment about khan with punchers at 147. Well collazo was a puncher as he was fresh off a KO of Ortiz, and he had made hatton cling on for dear life when he was the ring magazine fighter of the year. Furthermore the majority on here picked him to win so we know khan is strong at 147.

Finally this deluded notion that he needs to prove himself against those names you list.

I'm sorry but those nobody's all need to prove themselves to Khan to earn a shot at him at this stage. Most of them are running in the opposite direction anyway, especially the likes of Guerrero who khan tried to fight before Alexander stepped up. One time thurman didn't mention khans name at all after his last poor performance, changing his tune and now just mentioning maidana.

Everyone knows Khan is a major force in the welterweight division.

^ Good points MBE, and Thurman went so far as to admit that Khan could outbox him..

Just had a thought about the Cotto vs Canelo situation. It might work out favorably for Khan because Mayweather needs to secure that date fast and Khan will be much easier to negotiate with than Arum/Manny. The Cotto vs Canelo situation might actually force the Mayweather vs Khan fight - at least it's a possibility. Because once someone secures that date and the PPV, there won't be 2 PPVs on the same date so it's first come, first served situation.

I don't see anything special in Khan, other than speed.

You need more than speed to beat Floyd.

Khan has a lot more than just speed. You said you don't see special, but how many boxers have completely shut out Devon Alexander before? It was a lot more than just speed that enabled Khan to do that - things like footwork, defense, timing, accuracy, positioning, upper body movement, game planning, discipline, reflexes etc.. speed is just one of the many excellent attributes Khan possesses.

By definition, Khan is special because he did something that was way out of the ordinary, that hadn't been duplicated by other excellent opponents on Alexander's resume. Khan dominated him like no one else. It takes someone special to do that.

                  Alexander's not that good.

He was a 3 time world champion, with an amateur record of 300 wins and 10 losses. He's a good fighter, it's just Khan is a whole level above him so made him look worse than he actually is.
