Comments Thread For: Sanchez: If Golovkin’s Motivated, Murray Fight is Easy

While Gennady Golovkin’s trainer has some compliments about Martin Murray — whom Golovkin will be defending against in February — he still doesn’t think Murray stands a chance.

“He’s a big strong guy. He’s going to be a heck of a lot bigger than anybody we’ve fought. He obviously has the credentials,” Abel Sanchez told BoxingScene.com on Nov. 7. “He fought Sergio [Martinez] and supposedly he beat Sergio. He got a draw with [Felix] Sturm in Germany, which in my mind he won the fight. I think that he’s a guy who’s going to present, if not a size difference, he’s going to present some experience on a higher level.”

Not really man, he's been talking about it recently, he just accepts there are guys at 168 who likely go 12 with GGG.

It's hard to get motivated for a fight like this when there is no guarantee of a big fight yet after it; since Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo and Ward are all dead scared of the fight and ducking hard. GGG has boxing shook unlike any other fighter in boxing history aside from prime Tyson.

The only guy at 168 is hiding from him lol. So why even bother thinking about the division just for one coWard.

As soon as Andrea mans up, because he is a low life scum piece of ****, Golovkin will run after him. But that will never happen because Andrea is a fake christian piece of dog ****.

First take Mayweather canelo off that list. For one Mayweather doesn't have to fight GGG their not in the same division and GGG doesn't bring the type of money or fan base to make that a big fight, which is also why you need to take Ward off the list as well, because it was GGG and his people who said fighting Ward makes no sense as in big risk low reward low pay. This is pretty much common knowledge at this point and based on your picture it's obvious your trolling. Canelo hasn't even fought a legit middle weight so why should he go straight to GGG? Because it's a big fight for GGG? It makes no sense. As far as Cotto, he just got his title, he has a voluntary defense before he has to fight the mandatory so in no way is that a duck, its the fight really doesn't make sense, more then likely cotto will defend against canelo fight once at 154 lbs and then defend against GGG. What GGG needs to do is in the mean time get another title and continue to grow his reputation so the fight would be major for fans and boxing.

Golovkin will win this fight easy short of anything except injury.

Based on the level of comp that GGG has been fighting he is great, but when your own trainer states that the toughest opponent in his career is Curtis Stevenson, well that takes a lot of the ummpff behind him..He is good and I am a fan,but it doesn't sit well with me that he is calling out fighters from 154...and there isn't anyone at 160, I mean JT is a chaml again lol..he needs to move up,there are plenty of sharks at 168, most a bit passed their prime, but still good enough to **** it out with GGG and beat him..7-7:30i

NEW YORK – A middleweight championship unification fight against Miguel Cotto probably is the most unlikely of Gennady’s Golovkin’s potential options to actually materialize. Golovkin versus Andre Ward seems to be a close second. While Ward and Golovkin both have said that they’ll fight each other, Golovkin’s promoter made it clear in the aftermath of Golovkin’s third-round knockout of Daniel Geale on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the dollars might not make sense for Golovkin or Ward.
