I'm going with Hop by decision. I believe he frustrates Kov while using every tactic in the game to control the pace of the fight. It's going to get ugly and ironically I can see Kov getting a point deducted out of frustration. Experience over youth and power.
I also see Kovalev looking to the ref for help, not understanding Hopkins' tatics and in return, he throws a flagrant foul that gets points deducted. Hopkins continues to mug Kovalev who ends up fouling to the point of DQ. Another win for the ageless wonder.

I think it's more likely Hopkins starts getting beat up and flops to a questionable injury stoppage.
This fight is extremely hard to pick. Gun to the head, I think Hopkins pulls out a decision, but I say that with no confidence. I just really hope the old man doesn't get badly hurt in there.
It wasn't a non controversial fight. Calzags simply was not landing. & there has always been an establishment conspiracy to silence Bernard. The white boy comment worked against bernard in that fight. Calzags pushed the pace but he did zero damage &/or clean work. Bernard controlled the fight far more than the other way around. But we'll see in a few hours how it goes...
The only controversy was that it wasn't scored unanimously for Joe. Dang, how many years has it been? And Bhop fans still cannot get passed the fact that Joe beat him. And rather easily at that.
Cliff, nothing wrong with picking Kovalev, Hopkins is old and gets hit more now. But don't be a noob and predict a stoppage. That's what every noob fan picks in almost every B-Hop fight including the Cloud fight. Kovalev by decision would have been a more respectable prediction. Kovalev by KO seems fanboyish and more wishful thinking than anything.
