If you want to see what I'm talking about read my detailed post above and tell me why my opinions suggest that I don't know **** about boxing.

I've also been a Kovalev fan for years, and I'm not sure why you think you'd know whether I was a bandwagon fan or not; do you know me personally? Have I admitted online to only recently being a fan of Kovalev's? Do you think my avatar makes me a bandwagon fan, and if so are you a bandwagon fan of BHOP?

When he wins, sure. Obviously depending on how he wins. But as far as I'm concerned he's tailor made for Hopkins and Bernard will have to look every bit his age in order to lose.

He may win by KO, but I think that's highly unlikely given that he hasn't stopped anyone in ten years and has never stopped anyone when fighting above 168.

Kova reacts to feints - Hopkins is good at feinting

Kova doesn't move his head - Hopkins is an accurate puncher

Kova hasn't been past 8 - Hopkins has been 12 rounds tons of times

Kova doesn't have a good chin - Hopkins has decent power in his right hand

Kova cuts easily - Hopkins throws great headbutts

Kova hasn't had to show inside game - Hopkins specialises on the inside

Kova has power - Hopkins has a great chin and defence

Kova isn't as fast as Dawson, Taylor or pascal

Yet Hopkins has never stopped anyone above 168. Not one.

I also disagree about Kov not having an inside game and him only going 8 doesn't mean that he'll struggle to go longer. As for Hopkins' power, he's landed the right had plenty in nearly all his fights over the last ten years, but he stopped no one and only scored three knockdowns in sixteen fights. Moreover, if his chin is still great I don't think he would've been dropped and/or hurt so often by Pascal, someone who never even put down or seriously hurt chinny fighters like Dawson and Bute.

And again, the Tarver fight was 8 year ago and since then Pascal dropped and/or hurt BHOP several times.
You make some really good points, Kovalev has power for sure but being a long time boxing fan I've seen lots of guys with big power not be able to translate that at the higher levels. One such guy look at Edison Miranda. A monster puncher at middleweight who couldn't translate it at the top levels because the guys at the top don't give you the opportunity to hit them clean and they have better durability, in general more talent, making their opponents think before they punch, moving more effectively, they put more damage on their opponents which weaken them, strips them of confidence. Kovalev is powerful, just not proven at the upper eschelon. He gets his shot Saturday night though.

Hopkins might not KO him but he should win a clear decision and possibly even score a KD.
