It would be a first... he typically fights at around 183/4 which is relatively low for a LHW (compare Bellew and Stevenson hovering around 190 and Dawson who got as high as 193 in the ring). He might have tried to bulk up a little but I doubt it, he said he tried putting on a little more muscle for one of his recent fights (Agnew I think) but found it slowed him down which is the last thing he needs against Hopkins.

He looked sick. I didn't like his body language during the stare-down. Maybe he's fine and this is how he normally looks? IDK. Just giving my $0.02

Kovalev looked a bit off in yesterday and today's face off.
Not his usual intense staredown like with cleverly and sillakh.
Im a fan of kovalev and I hope he wins tomorrow but did't like his behaviour around bhop.
Looked a bit stressed and trying to smile and laugh akward, that was a suprise.
Ive heard several trainers mention that he is not the most self confident person, aibel sanchez mentioned several times that kovalev was scared of sparring golovkin..
              Anyway, war Kovalev!

I'm not a big fan of the "body language" argument.

Cotto looks scared/nervous in every face down he's ever been in...We all know what happens once Cotto gets in the ring. We all know that Sergio's "Alpha" body language didn't help him much once Cotto clubbed him in the head repeatedly with left hooks.

On the other hand Rampage Jackson always looks "dominant" in the staredowns yet has been getting his ass kicked by everyone under the sun for the past few years.

Simply put, some people are more shy than others....Not everyone is loud or "Alpha" like Conor McGregor or Bernard Hopkins...Some people are naturally shy. Kovalev has always struck me as a pretty shy quiet person....

I think with high level elite boxers none of that crap matters....What matters is speed, power, determination, boxing skill, gameplan, styles (styles make fights) etc....

That being said Hopkins will win on Saturday because he's the better fighter and Kovalev's style is suited perfectly for him....

                  Neither looked drained.

Kovalev looked relaxed to me and I think people are reading far too much into the smiling.

The threads after this fight are going to be hilarious. All Kovalev is banking on is Hopkins looking his age. That's it. He brings nothing to the table that Hopkins hasn't seen before and hasn't handled with ease before. The definition of tailor made. Better holla at Father Time and beg for some help.
