    Wow is this for real?

Willie Pep looked good in black and white against those stiff zombies with 30+ losses each.

Dude Pep has/had absolutely nothing on Floyd. It's like comparing Ali/Frazier to Wlad or Vitali.

No disrespect to Pep, but come on

Look at the statistics, Pep him self went up against Sugar Ray at an unofficial smokers fight. Pep was a natural born fighter and would make Mayweather look like an amateur in the ring. You can't compare an All Time Great to a modern day cherry picker.

Not to mention Pep was 229-11, and you're gonna tell me that all 229 of them where stiff zombies?
      Come on.

I see people on the forums to go as far and say Floyd had a better defence/footwork then Pep.

Can anyone, give a half decent reason why Mayweather would be better then an ATG.
No Mayweather Cherry Pic fights his crooked Judges, refs his crying over gloves have blemished him as to why he's not the best ever. At most he's probably top 30 ATG

I think you need to move on to another sport. I'm a Floyd fan, but come on.

              Zero comparisons, ZERO!
Mayweather has nothing over Pep especially foot movement. Pep is the greatest mover in the history of boxing anyone who can't see that can't see!
The only comparisons that could be drawn from a current boxer would be Rigo.
Their approaches to success are different however the intellect within their Methods are similar.
"Hit and not get hit "was Pep's motto but he spent a lot of time "hitting" too!!

Pep is the Master Boxer, Mayweather is the master cherrypicker!
Study the films and try to evaluated all the techniques used by both and you'll see far more skills in Pep than Mayweather. The overall output alone is ridiculous, Mayweather is more like Hopkins. They understand the 3 minute clock and try to emulate what Ali did in controlling the sequences they want the judges to see! The only problem with that is it can get boring to the fans who want to see action.
When Pep employed this Method he was on the move so at least there was
the elution of action. Ali took a lot from Pep as Robinson did and many others.
Pep was hard to hit and he uses a multitude of defensive skills that Mayweather never uses!

Pep is easily a Top Twenty Fighter in History. Mayweather is no where near him

He wasn't so great all those times Saddler busted him up. To say Floyd is no where near his level P4P ability wise is ****ing nonsense and just a clear bias either in favour of fighters from the past or against Floyd.

Pep had the better feet yes, anyone with half a brain knows that, better jab in the sense he pumped it consistently like a piston. Floyd has a better right hand, better in fighter, better off the ropes. Head movement and reflexes are debatable. Power? At the lower weights I'd say Floyd's the bigger puncher. Faster? Floyd

Someone mentioned Pep fighting Robinson as an amateur, Pep said himself Robinson beat him from pillar to post so that's no claim to fame.

Question Floyd's bravery and opposition later in his career all you like, there's fights I'd also have liked to have seen him have but that doesn't detract from the fights he has had.

                    .

Saddler only beat Pep 1st legitimately, the other two wins were cause by Saddlers fouls, which he did a lot of. Even then Saddler only beat Pep past prime and post airplane crash injuries. Add the fact Saddler was a big featherweight for the time and you come to the conclusion that it wasn't a bad lost for Pep.

Now I've only seen post airplane injury Pep fights so can't comment on his prime fights but I can say that if he was that good post injuries can you imagine how good he was pre injuries in his prime.

All in all Pep was a better fighter then Mayweather and there's no comparison between the two.

I will be honest, I have NEVER seen a Mayweather/Pep comparison

Pep is of course rated high All Time by Most and rightfully so. When it come to ATG Boxers and ATG Rankings, the guys that are considered the greatest and basically CEMENTED at the top of those list and I don't even think it is possible for anybody to EVER reach that level. Especially considering how watered down the talent is in boxing now.
