  • Comments Thread For: Alexander: Khan Better, More Dangerous Than Brook

Styles make fights, says Devon Alexander. He sees Amir Khan as a more dangerous, tougher fight than a showdown with current IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. Alexander lost his IBF title last year to Shawn Porter, who in August lost the same title Brook.

Alexander will face Amir Khan on December 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as the headline fight of a Showtime televised tripleheader.

Although Brook defeated his conqueror, Alexander says the undefeated champion still has a lot to prove, while Khan has faced many of the top fighters time and time again.

Khan getting some praise for a change, how nice. But in reality in boxing circles Khan does usually get praise for being very good and talented. He just gets ridiculed here on NSB.

Lol these two clowns taking turns sucking eachother off. Brook did something Alexander or Khan have yet to do, beat a good top 10 WW. One who beat the breaks off of Alexander and would probably KO Khan.

Alexander beat a Maidana coming up fresh from 140, he still wasn't top 10. He beat Bailey who was top 10, but he wasn't a good top 10 fighter. Khan doesn't have a win over a top WW either. Both are insulting Brook, they sound jealous.

In terms of power and timing, Brook's a level (or two) above both of these guys. He doesn't appear as fast, but timing beats speed, and as we saw against Porter Brook has MUCH more composure under pressure than Khan has. That counts for more than anything when the going gets tough.

                Well said.

Khan has a glass chin, but people forget he has managed to come this far with it and that is a compliment on it's own.

Your first claim: they haven't beaten a Top 10 WW

Second: Although Devon beat Bailey he wasn't a top 10 fighter.

Notice how you moved the goal post from beating top 10 WW to top 10 fighter all in the same post? All because Randall Bailey being a IBF champion makes him at least top 6 if not 4.

Your initial argument was "beating a Top 10 WW", so Alexander has done that already.

Alexander losing close boxing decisions to Matthyse (1 round) & Kotelnik (atleast 3 rounds)

Getting out hustled by the smaller Porter and out gamed by smaller Timmeh'

He has showed solid boxing ability BUT if Khan still has immense boxing ability as he has shown in the past then I hope to and expect to see a one sided fight whereby Khan proves he STILL HAS IT despite now bieng under Virgil

Beating Alexander by less than 4 rounds would leave me dissapointed. It might be accceptable if Alexander clearly turns up puts on great performance but is unable to prevail.
