Hopkins has my view on CW's and I love it...

"Everybody asking about a CW, WHO CARES, they agreed to rumble." That's exactly how I look at it. They agreed, I could care less. That goes for any CW.

In this case there is literally no reason to complain about the CW. No one is being drained, no one is being dragged up or down. Yeah it sucks that the MW title is on the line but who the hell actually thinks the winner of this fight is the best MW? The fight is happening at the right weight, celebrate it, it's a great fight.

Excellent video. I thoroughly enjoyed it and you make some great points particularly on Cotto's side. It's very telling how much success opponents have had on Cotto countering on his way in, particularly landing the uppercut which has caused plenty of damage in his previous fights. Once he goes to the high guard he will leave himself open to Canelo who has molded his uppercuts into some of the best in the game.

It's one similarity between the two that they will allow opponents to tee of on them, Cotto with the high guard and Canelo off the ropes. I can see Cotto taking advantage of Canelo's inactivity with that crisp and poweful jab. It's similar to what you pointed out in the Lara fight where he would throw a straight left and move, Cotto can throw the jab and circle Canelo if he's hesitant to throw or simply waits for a perfect shot.

I wish you would've addressed Cotto's left hook and Canelo's ability to defend against it. I really haven't seen many people land it, obviously he's never faced anyone that can throw it as efficiently as Cotto. He was able to neutralize Angulo's best shot which is the left hook, different levels I know. He showed at the very least during the KO of Kirkland he will slip it when throwing that right hand that knocked him out as he was aware of it and slipped under the left hook.

Although you did reference how little Cotto hurt Canelo with the right hook, left hook to the head he's been using more effectively under Roach. That was so long ago it's hard to interpret it.
