I got Miguel outboxing Alvarez, but he unfairly won't get the decision

Alvarez always has at least one judge on his side in big fights
Logging your excuses early, I see.

I see this as a close fight. Neither Canelo nor Cotto has been a superman lately. Unless you really feel Cotto's competition has been strong. I don't.

No, their careers have largely been smoke and mirrors recently.

Alvarez went through the better string of opponents (Trout, Floyd, Angulo, Erislandy, Kirkland) but only put on impressive performances against limited come forward guys with no defense (Angulo and Kirkland).

Gets a hand from at least one judge whenever it goes to the cards.

      A 118-109 card vs Trout
      A draw card vs Floyd
      A 117-111 card vs Erislandy

I did suggest Cotto's chin has been battle tested & only came up short vs one of the best in the business & a guy who got caught with loaded wraps in his next fight & Canelo hasn't been battle tested by anyone other than primitive punchers (Angulo + Kirkland) with lil else to work with than their punch + got wobbled by Cotto's lil bro (in size) so if someone is getting KO'd I believe it'll be Canelo. My official pick is Canelo by decision.
My bad I did stop reading after your well he got stunned by Cottos brother analogy because I was like WTF is he really using that as an analogy.

You said Canelo has only been battle tested by primitive fighters like Angulo and Kirkland who he happened to destroy. But I guess you forgot he won and imo won legitly vs Trout and Lara in a chest match type of fight. So I say Canelo is battle tested.

Do I think he wins? I hope so for the sake of ridding the old guard and bringing in the new but I truly think Cotto will have a one last great type of performance and pull out a UD.

        • things are getting interesting...
ppv pct could go from 55-45 to 50-50...

          • Cotto will land a few shots but Canelo isn't handicapped and he doesn't looked drained to me. I say Canelo's left hook is the story of this fight, that and his uppercut on the inside. Canelo wins by 8th rd TKO.

But yes, I agree with your point about Canelo possibly cutting Cotto. Not unlikely.
Agree. I think it should be like, if someone gave you 1000 bucks to bet on it, who would you pick?

I don't see Trout as much of a puncher/KO guy. Basically Trout beats Cotto, Canelo beats Trout (although I personally had Trout winning by a point so I disagree with the outcome anyway) is some triangle theory **** or w/e so I don't think its THAT meaningful for this fight even if its a common opponent. I don't think either guy has a style that would be very comparable to what Trout does.

Most of Canelo's better opposition in recent years are lighter hitting high level boxers (Trout, Mayweather, Lara-who I feel all beat Canelo), lower weight guys (Lopez), old guys (Mosley) or primitive punchers (Angulo, Kirkland). Cotto is a higher level boxer who can punch. I don't think Canelo has been in with a guy like that. Okay sure he's been "battle tested", if you wanna call it that lol, vs chess masters in the ring. But not by a guy like Cotto. Certainly not on Cotto's level. Styles make fights & I think its possible Cotto's style could give Canelo issues & if it does I suspect he'll get KTFO. Canelo's matches with good to great boxers like Trout, Mayweather & Lara & what he learned in those fights is why I think he'll ultimately win doe.
