George Groves says a fight with his fellow British super-middleweight James DeGale is possible – but that DeGale needs the fight more than he does.
Groves bounced back from a pair of dramatic losses to Carl Froch with a points victory over Christopher Rebrasse at Wembley Arena in September and will next fight Denis Douglin of America in Liverpool on November 22.
DeGale will also be on that bill – he is scheduled to face Marco Antonio Periban of Mexico – and victories for the British duo could lead to calls for them to fight again.
Groves narrowly won their exciting first bout on points at the O2 Arena in May 2011, a verdict DeGale disputed, and the beaten man has subsequently gone on to win nine bouts in a row since suffering that first defeat as a pro.
