cosign valero. His DNA limits his foot speed no matter how hard he works and i believe he works hard. it might get a little better but it won't change much. He's a thick white mexican...He just doesn't have the natural athleticism in his legs/feet. He does have good coordination in his upperbody though...

Not sure how his career is going to pan out either, he's had 40 something fights, still can't cut off a ring.

Too small for 160. His power isn't all that. His hand speed is good though.

I've been saying it for a while: he needs a new damn corner. Chepo isn't teaching him anything new.

He should get with Nacho while he's still around, Nacho isn't a spring chicken.
I'm with you Beercules. I just don't see how he's going to improve with his current corner. I hate to say that cause i'm not a fan of fighters switching trainers like they change their underwear but I honestly don't see him getting any better.

Canelo's current trainer seems like a 'yes man' he's just happy to be along for the ride with his golden egg. Canelo's talent has taken him to his limit and needs a quality trainer who will put the pressure on him.

What we see from Canelo is pretty much the finished product. Expect him to get wiser (stamina management, mental approach, etc) and make some minor improvements over his already established foundation; he'll get sharper and whatnot. But don't expect him to make a 180 turn and fight on his toes like Pacquiao, moving from side to side and such. That is not him, never has been. Plus, he would gas out in half the time he does currently.

The ones that came to fight get their ass beat. Just ask Trout, Angulo, Lopez, etc.

              Atleast they have some balls.

Lara is so pathetic he tried to run the entire fight and still got caught with top 5 upper cuts of the year that left his forehead split in half in need of surgical repair.

              Great thread, OP."peeleft:

Canelo might always struggle with movers but he knows how to deal with them, even with his physical limitations. It'll help him to move up as he'll be able sustain his foot speed for much longer.

canelo has never been fat for any of his fights.

his mobility has been good enough. he beats anyone but mayweather at 154. even boxers like trout and lara, already defeated.
