UIC Pavilion, Chicago - Undefeated WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda of Japan controlled the first eight rounds, then tired, as mandatory challenger Alejandro Hernandez of Mexico had a 64-55 edge in power shots landed over the last four rounds. The selective Kameda landed nearly half his power punches in the fight. The judge had it a twelve round split decision victory in favor of Kameda.
