Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez is Open To Facing Tyson Marquez

According to Juan Carlos Torres, a senior executive at Zanfer Promotions, WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (40-0, 34KOs) rejected the opportunity to face tough former champion Hernan "Tyson" Marquez, and instead selected Rocky Fuentes for his upcoming defense on November 22 in Japan.

Torres claims the deal was offered to Gonzalez's legal adviser, Carlos Blandon, who allegedly turned the fight down. Marquez (37-5, 26KOs) will now return on December 6th in Hermosillo against an opponent to be determined.

T marquez is a 45,000 mile worn out tire while fuentes although a veteran and was on winninv streak for a while and not too bad of a fighter himself so choosing tyson over the latter, fresher fighter is conservative strategy obviously coz tbh roman did not look that good in his last fight...imo

Tyson is all but done, he's taken some bad punishment, Gonzalez would steam roll him...Still, it would be a huge draw in MX...

I guess knocking down your opponent two times and then knocking them out is a bad performance?
