Comments Thread For: Rocky Martinez's Coach Talks Return, Salido Clash

The former 130-pound champion of the WBO Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (27-2-2, 16 KO's) could be reappearing in December on route to a title shot at lightweight in 2015 as announced by coach Papo Torres, who admitted he has heard rumors of a possible brawl in the first quarter with Orlando Salido, the current junior lightweight champion of the WBO.

Martinez was providing some sparring help to Jose "Sniper" Pedraza, who on November 14 faces Filipino Michael Farenas in a final eliminator for the number one 130-pound position under the IBF.

Pedraza vs Salido is the fight. Martinez is too big and Verdejo is too green, and too big. Pedraza is just right, if he gets past Farenas. Pedraza vs Salido would be good all the way around. Pedraza is young and Salido is experienced, no weight edge, it will sell better than Rances vs Pedraza. I'm not saying Pedraza is the greatest, I just like he didn't stay on the Island to build his record, he wasn't pampered.
