Comments Thread For: Tomoki Kameda Forced To Settle For Split Nod In Chicago

Tomoki Kameda is making the most of his life as a man without a country. The unbeaten bantamweight titlist won his second straight stateside fight, the latest coming Saturday evening in a surpringly closely scored 12-round decision over Alejandro Hernandez at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. Glad I watched that fight because it continues to allow me to see the bias of the commentators. Hernandez was in an position a lot of black brother's are in when it comes to the American legal system by being guilty until proven innocent. But in Hernandez case he had loss before he entered the ring. Then when it was scored a split the commentators actually couldn't believe it when if they weren't so bias they could have actually seen that their favorite guy wasn't shutting out Hernandez in the same way they called the fight....

The fight was closer than Farhood had it, but it was still a clear win for Tomoki in my opinion. Hernandez closed strong but he came on too late.

Tomoki is not a Mexican face fighter, that's for sure. He moves a lttle too much, he stays out of reach too long. Payasito was not active enough, but when he tried he was successful. Tomoki has a leaky defense, so he moves. His power is average. I have doubts about Tomoki at top 10 level, oops, he's the champ. Anyway, Mcjoe Arroyo in NY would be good.

Kameda does himself no favors staying in 'the pocket' so long IMO, needs to 'Hearns' his style a bit, use that height with better balance to increase his range and power.

It looked to me like he might have suffered an orbital bone injury, he's definitely got heart.

Kameda did a good job of controlling the fight until he started to run out of gas toward the end.

How did I know after reading your first two sentences that you were going to have a red karma bar, before I even looked.
