Close match up! Wlad would have difficulty keeping Tyson away from him, and would definitely need to tie him up. A strong referee would stop that, however, so you'd fancy Tyson for the first 6 rounds. If Wlad could survive the initial onslaught, though, he'd likely score a late kO.

Horrible style matchup for Tyson against older Wlad, he would be walking into the jab.

Against younger/aggressive Wlad there would probably be some scary moments.

Vladimir - Tyson never faced anything like him, except Lennox.

Now this is truly a match up worthy of discussion.

On the one hand, the best Tyson was so fast and reactive, could close a gap like no other and deliver highly accurate and devastating blows singly or in combination. He was not easy to hit either and could take a good punch.

Of all the bull like opponents Wladimir has fought, I don't think any were as good/dangerous as Tyson.

Conversely, Wladimir is the ultimate expert of keeping such fighters like this at bay with his long powerful jab and chopping right hands and long nuclear left hook (ok, and his grab and hold too lol).

It genuinely could be a real pick em job whether Wladimir can shut down Tyson and pick him apart, or whether Tyson will breach the defences and score.

We know that Lennox bashed Tyson when they fought, the analog of Wladimir he fought.

So this asks the relevant question whether another version of Tyson could have beaten that Lennox? Which also divides opinion.

I always rank Wladimir higher but really if this fight was made, I would not make any bets.

I would favour very prime Tyson against majority of tall ATGs. I would favour (just about) prime tyson against Wlad, Lennox, Holmes...

Only tall man I would clearly pick against prime Tyson is Vitali.

Yeah even then it's not THAT clear for me.

But yeah I remember VK vs Kirk Johnson and Larry Merchants comments..

"Nobody has ever done this to Kirk Johnson, in 12 years as a pro!"

It's really difficult to knock VK as the GOAT.

Only Lennox beats Vitali, and Lennox got lucky too.
