dont forget it also has to make financial sense.

Golovkin is embrace by the network and fans so he gets fight.

No network and very few fans are interested with Rigo.

That is the difference between Rigo and Golovkin. GGG was not sitting around and asking for giant paydays. He made adaptations to his fighting style to make the pro version of the sport fans happy. He was taking lower cuts so his opponents would get a decent payday and he could get fights. He also fought often till he built a fan base and worked from there.

Then we have Caribe and Rigo demanding giant purses that are much higher than his popularity and weight class can dictate. That is what you call boxing's version of "business".

Doesn't fix the Caribe problem though

I think the only one that's willing to fight him is Leo Santa Cruz

Al Haymon won't let it happen doe

It brings a smile to my face when I read these articles. Very happy to see Rigo struggling, he deserves it. That's what he gets for being boring and refusing to change his style for our viewing pleasure.

I love this because more networks and promoters will follow suit. We viewers do not want to get bored when we turn on their network, or we switch the channel and stop watching/supporting. Cowards / runners / boring fighters will not be supported by our sport.

I pray that you are so wrong. I want to see Rioc vs. LSC as much as I wanna see Cotto vs. Canelo. I think Haymon and Oscar can pull of this fight in 2015.

if Leo Santa Cruz wants that fight, then the onus is on him to make it happen. Fans need to stop blaming everyone from the fighter's kindergarten teacher to their grandparents when they wont fight guys and blame the fighters themselves. The promoters, managers and advisors work for them not the other way around.
