WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) has been watching Bernard Hopkins for a very long time. Next Saturday night, Kovalev will attempt to grasp the 49-year-old boxer's IBF/WBA title belts at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Kovalev is training hard in the gym and working up a strategy of attack, which includes some defensive tactics to avoid any of Hopkins' questionable tricks.

The Russian puncher explained why he believes Hopkins is a "dirty fighter."

It doesn't really seem like Kovalev brought up the dirty fighter thing until 100 journalists kept asking him how he will handle Bernard's dirty fighting.

Not that Bernard isn't a dirty fighter (he is the dirtiest) but it just seems like the "bad blood" between these two doesn't actually exist and journalists are trying too hard to bait them into insulting each other.

Fully expect once Hopkin's realizes he's in for a hard battle he'll begin to use the same old dirty tricks as usual, crying foul whenever he can.

To negate Hopkins "dirty" tactics, you have to be a very good boxer. You have to throw power out of the window and just try to win with speed, footwork, and good body movement. Kovalev doesn't have any of these things like Jones and Dawson, and certainly doesn't have the activity of Calzaghe. He's gonna go in there and try to KO Hopkins with the mentality that he's fighting an old man. Kovalev will bring a ******* vs a guy with an M-16, a knife, a steel pipe, a tank, a fighter jet. Kovalev will look lost after 4 rounds. If he doesn't KO Hopkins within 4-5 rounds, Hopkins will take over and win 8 rounds to 4.

My prediction stands. Kovalev will clip BHOP with something big and finish the legend. I just hope it's not a brutal KO cause I like the old man.
