  • The middleweight division has a lot of up-and-coming talent right now

    Tony Harrison

    Ievgen Khytrov

    Ryota Murata

    Sergiy Derevyanchenko

    Jason Quigley

    Andrey Meryasev

    Arif Magomedov

    Dominic Wade

    Patrick Nielsen

    Dmitry Chudinov

    George Carter Jr

    Billy Joe Saunders

    Chris Eubank Jr

    Marat Kulumbegov

    Anthony Ogogo

    Sherzod Husanov

    Adam Etches

And the division will be made even more interesting with the boxers currently at 154 who will probably eventually move up:

Lara, Alvarez, Andrade, Trout, Martirosyan, the Charlo brothers, etc.

The division needs some new blood, that's for sure. I'm more interested in the prospects than the former 154 lbers, who are all flawed and pretty boring.

And Murata.... in his pro debut he knocked out the OPBF title holder in the second round.

Chudinov and Nielsen already fought, BJS and Saunders up next.

I must be underrating Chudinov because I thought Nielsen would win.

Khytrov, Ogogo, Wade, and Murata are the main ones I'm watching.

            BJS/Eubank should be good.

Every division is full of young up n coming talent if u look hard enough. Doesn't mean much about the present or future state of the division though. Even the best boxing prosiects flame out routinely. MW right now is a cap division. The worse MW division in history IMO

The MW division isn't bad, as Doktor Sleepless pointed out in a thread the other day. They just need to fight each other more.

Taylor/Pavlik era of stink was worse. Hopkins era is debatable as well.
