    Artur Beterbiev vs. Jeff Page

The French-Canadian media is reporting Artur Beterbiev will likely be fighting Jeff Page (15-0) on Dec 19 in Montreal, and that the fight will probably be shown on Showtime as part of a doubleheader.

I would have preferred they find someone with a more recognizable name like Gabriel Campillo or Beibut Shumanov. But that be said, it will be good to see Beterbiev back and on Showtime.

I can't really complain given that it's his 7th pro fight.

Just had a look at Jeff Page's boxrec, seems to have a respectable amateur background.

Yeah he was bludgeoning people in the amateurs having them left spitting up blood routinely. Surely Cloud had fallen off a bit, but that last fight was scary.

He seems to be a decent prospect.

At age 24 Page has very good potential, so I don't understand why they are cashing him out against Beterbiev.

Maybe most, but not everyone. History is littered with examples of guys who a hard hitter hits with their sunday best and nothing happens. There hasn't been a single fighter in history who has hurt everyone they fought. Not even Shavers, Julian Jackson, Hearns, etc.

Ya he's got wicked accuracy and scary power, reminds me of ggg and kovalev. I feel like those guys were taught in the amateurs how to hurt guys and that's what they practiced for, precision punching. Much different from Cuban amateur style.

I agree there's always guys like tua and McCall around who can withstand a cannon shot.
