Comments Thread For: Cecilia Braekhus-Jennifer Retzke on November 29th

Undisputed (WBC, WBA, WBO & IBF) Female World Welterweight Champion Cecilia Brækhus (26-0, 7 KOs) is back in action on November 29. The pound–for-pound queen will face IBF mandatory challenger Jennifer Retzke (15-1-1, 9 KOs) at the Falconer Hall at the Radisson Blu in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Brækhus became the first female boxer to unify a division in September when she defeated Ivana Habazin in a historic fight in the Danish capital. Two months later ‘The First Lady’ returns, ready to defend her newly unified titles against the former IBF Female World Light Middleweight Champion and current IBO Female World Welterweight Champion, Retzke. Braekhus is the Greatest

The Greatest Female Welterweight in the history of women's boxing (she chased a terrified Holly Holm right out of the ring) will add another victory to her undefeated record. It'll never happen, but I'd love to see Cecilia on the cover of 'The Ring' magazine.

Women's boxing gets no attention at all. Women's MMA is hot right now. Gets regular tv with the men on plenty of cards. Idk when was the last time I saw a women's boxing fight live.

The unexpected phenomenon of Ronda Rousey is what forced the UFC to add the females. Rousey is perhaps the most popular fighter in all of UFC. When she retires from the cage, that will be the end of women's mma being "hot" for sure. Fight fans aren't going to pack an arena to watch Lauren Murphy fight Miesha Tate or Sarah Kaufman fight Jessica Eye.
